plugins for photoshop cs?

i would like to get some plugins for photoshop cs, but am unsure which ones to get since there are so many out there (?). i just need some basic stuff, mainly for editing digital camera images and making postcards and the like out of them (folding corners, etc), nothing too fancy.

can anyone reccomend any product that makes these types of plugins? are there a few 'main' ones or is it a jungle out there?

oh, and do old plugins work with photoshop cs?

I can tell you what I use and give you the links to the sites where you can purchase them but beyond that I cant really tell you what the 'best' filters are for photoshop alot of that is going to hinge largely upon personal preference and artistic style. the filters that I have I either think are nifty or they compliment my artistic style.

Come to think of it that is the only non stock filter that I use, mostly beyond that I use custom brushes and laying techniques in my work.
