| Amateur Graphic Designer ?'s
I just graduated high school not too long ago and I am looking into starting my own graphic design business mostly specializing in making websites, logos, banners etc... I am just an amateur and would like to hone my skills to the professional level.
Few questions:
I use Fireworks now and I am decent with the program, but should I start over and learn photoshop since it seems that you can do more with it? If so, know of any good guides to learn about photoshop?
Basically I really want to know does anyone have any advice for a beginner in this business? Tell me everything I need to know!
Thanks, Ty44ler

Oh, lol you had me flippin there too. Yeah, fireworks is a limited program, and i believe PSP or Photoshop are the superior programs, PSP if your strapped for cash, and photoshop if you want to do stuff that looks professional. I personally am using photoshop and am quite proficient. Photoshop i believe is the preferred program for GFX.

Personaly I love fireworks and have never bothered to learn photoshop. I find fireworks very easy to use and I am able to do any thing I want w/ it. There are a few things about photoshop that I feel are more powerfull than fireworks but I would stick with fireworks and learn photoshop aswell. They both have there posotive points.

I also have another question which will definitely show that I'm just an amateur...
I'm not too clear on the whole raster vs vector image thing. I understand that to blow an image up real big it has to be a raster image, but how do I know what the image Im making is and how do I make it a raster?
