Transparency in animation shop

Ok I got some pics, got 'em all nice and transparent in PSp5... but when I copy & paste into animation shop it doesn't show them as transparent

I have the background color (165,165,165 grey) set as the transparent color, and when I "View as transparent image" it shows the checkerboard fine.

However when I C&P into anim shop it just shows the grey

Any ideas?
I know I'm screwing something up

Oh and yes in Animation shop I have all frames set to transparent canvas or whatever.

btw, I'd like to avoid using white as the transparent color if possible

The color you see of the trasparency doesn't really matter since it's not going be seen once it's uploaded to a web site... Those are just colors you see with certain image viewers. ACDSee shows transparency as "black".

GIF or GIF with transparency files must be created using index colors, 256 or less. They cannot maintain transparency with greyscale, RGB, CMYK, Lab Colors, etc. You'll find that using JPG with the same color background is a better choice under certain circumstances where more than 256 colors is required to view the image optimally...
