Bowling Web Logo – Need Opinions

The pins are candlepins, not ten-pins, BTW. Opinions? I modeled everything in Blender 3D so it’s really easy to change anything I need to.

    EDIT 3: Revision 3:
Seems to have come down to one of these two, with some minor changes:

sorry don't like it. IMO it's to busy..

you modeled it very nice though

you may want to try taking the reflections off the back letters and adding 3 finger holes in the bowling ball to make it look better.

    Yeah, the lettering needs changing.

Finger Holes? Candlepin balls don't have finger holes. (Small balls, not big ones)

The text is too dark imo, hard to read. The 3d effect on the "French king entertainment center" doesnt look good. The graphic of the ball and pins looks good. Maybe try some different arrangements/colors of your text.

as a graphic, the image would work, assuming you are going for that sleek3d look which you do indeed have. as a logo, i would say it probably isn't as effective. logos generally tend to be more simple and easily recognizable as a symbol. maybe not to the degree of ibm's logo or apple, but not so elaborate as a graphic, if that makes any sense.

The banner has alot of potential. I don't overly like the 3d writing, but the 3d pins are cool. Also, some of the text is hard to read.

I would say, model some "ten-pin" bowling pins...more common and known...and look better. Also, you really need to render those pins again..it looks all choppy. You also need a bit of work on the lighting.

Contact me for some help, I use blender aswell...sweet little program.

Yes, and as you can see the page needs redesign, and I am bringing it from MS Word and Frontpage created to a PHP based web-site.

Austine: I should have been clearer, it is not a logo for the business but just a banner for the coming web-site.

SpaceSquad: Gotta keep the candlepins, as that is one of the biggest reasons this place is in business. I am horrible at the lighting (and camera angle for that matter), I’ll be getting in contact with you.

    Thanks all,

Looks good other than the red lettering, and what is that green thing on the E?

Yeah, I saw that green thing too.

Umm, regarding the lettering: Make the color(s) contrast the black more. It doesn't really pop out at me. I'd make the lettering neon green or bright orange (or something of the like).

I was thinking that, and that would also go with their Neon Bowling Night theme well.

    Thanks,

That's good, but the blue letters should be bright, too.

Personally, I don't like the 3D text. It looks as though it was made in Microsoft Word.
