Good high end scanner?
I'm looking for a good scanner with two options, An automatic document feeder for 4x6in photos (can be larger too, but has to do a good job) and a negative/slide scanner(this does not have to be automatic but It'd be nice). Past that at least a 1200dpi would be nice. I don't need professional quality, but I would like to be able to run through a lot pictures in a reasonable amount of time without involvment of me for every one. The budget is has the ability to go up to $1000, but I think the person I'm finding this for would have a heart attack if it went that high.

Dont know if you can find the professional quality that you're looking for under a $1000. The only one I can think of is the HP Scanjet 8250. It's got automated duplexing but dont think you can get a perfect copy of a 4x6.

After some research I'm not even sure if what I want exists in the small capacity I need, but more suggestions would be usefull.
