i hope this is the right place to post this but i need help with a fading image for an avatar like a image with another image right behind that but just a little dim so if you know what im talking about please help im very confused

if you are meaning combining two images...thats called blending.....making one fade in the background is called ghosting its all a matter of changing their opacities...but...if the images have different backgrounds one must remove the backround an feather the image....feathering is also a method of blending...i am sure there are many tutorials out there for whatever software you use...just search google i am sure you will find one
