| Trouble moving pics from cell to computer
I am attempting to move two pictures of my cats from my Motorola Razr to my Sony Vaio. I purchased the appropriate USB cord, but the computer won't recognize the phone as an external device. It wants me to insert a memory stick. I also attempted to e-mail the photos to myself today, but that failed as well. Please tell me what I am doing wrong and how to correct it so I can move the pics from my download/pics folder to my live.space website. Thanks a lot in advance for any help. |

Either you need to install drivers, then connect the phone, or the phone will show as a removable drive or some other device in My Computer. That is the usual way for these things, although I never really tried with a Motorola before.

Thank you, Paul9. Yes, it did that. I've sucessfully installed the USB cord and been poking around trying in vain to find the driver. I thought I had installed it, but apparently I was mistaken. <sigh> I was just on the Motorola site...feel a bit more educated, but no closer to knowing *which* driver I'm missing. <bigger sigh> But I will not give up. :-) |

Thank you, Ryan 206. I tried that. After consulting with a friend at work and a phone friend, both of whom are much more cellphone/picture savvy than myself, I discovered the phone does not accept "memory sticks" and my USB cable is a 4-pin instead of a 5-pin. My phone friend asked me to e-mail the pics to him to see if the e-mail feature was actually working. It is. I am awaiting a return e-mail with the pics attached. That should solve the problem. Thanks for all your help. |
