I'm using the Photoshop brushes quite frequently these days, but I can't seem to modify the gradient of the colour, so it's always one fixed colour. Can't I modify it to fit a gradient into it?

Right OK.
The brushes in Photoshop. When I use them, all I can do is specific ONE colour to them, I can't seem to add any colour gradients to the brushes or any effects.
Also, I can't resize them once I apply them onto my canvas. I can't select them, I can't move them and I can't delete them. Take a look at this Some of them have colour gradients within the same brush, how is this done. Another example is this |

Are you sure that wasn't a fill?

Fill can work or you can do a color or gradient overlay and use your blending options. All brushes can be changed.
As for moving and that sort of stuff. Make sure you use a new layer for each bruch stroke. That way you can apply your desired effects on each layer that you want without going into the other layers. |

Yeah, I don't think those gradients are within the brush. Maybe they used the brush as a stamp then selected the object and filled with a gradient. You can have a brush that fades from one color to another throughout the brushstroke. But you can't have a gradient within a single stamp of the brush. |
