    Rotating Images

Why does rotating images in PS distort them? It appears to happen with other programs as well.

"Other" programs don't distort for me.

The simple act of rotation shouldn't cause any distortion what so ever. Maybe be a little more precise and explain how you are trying to rotate them. Perhaps show some examples of what you are talking about.

What "other" programs are you talking about, give some examples here man we can't read minds.

I have submitted a sample below. As you can see the edge of the picture are fuzzy, it isn't a heavy distortion, but it's noticeable. This was taken in PS, it also happens in Fireworks.

I don't know whether it's the image or...? I have also included that image so you can test it out for yourselves.

IMO the image without the rotation looks no different than the one with they both look to be a little fuzzy!

Have you tired zooming in? have you tried it yourself - you'll see the guidelines become uneven.

If you zoom into the edge of the actual picture (not the frame) you will see a difference between that, and the original next to it.

Because your monitor can't draw a straight line at that angle.

So it looks different depending on the monitor? But it happens at any rotational angle apart from 180, 90...

It happens because Monitors have Horizontal and Vertical lines of resolution. So you have a bunch of squares that have to draw an angle. your straight line turns into a set of stairs. Look at the plug in your last attachment. when you edge is straight the plug is jagged.
