| Changing colours to specific hex
I have a hex colour code, and an image which was originally a different colour. Now, what I want to do is change this image to match this code exactly (or at least very close).
At the moment, I have just been adjusting the hue and saturation of these images to what I think is a match of the colour I want.
The code is #2996D4
The image is attached.

So how would I go about doing that on here?
I already have Fireworks and Photoshop, aren't these capable of transforming an image to match a code? |

One issue is your hex code and that color blue don't match. |

With a simple image like that why not just create a new one from scratch??

Yes that hex code is what I want my icon to have. Currently, it just has a different shade of blue which I picked manually using the scales of hue/saturation.
I have attempted to change the colour as you've suggest, but PS first opens the image with a totally different blue, and once I select the blue like you said, it doesn't change the colour of the icon.
It's from a set of icons, if I was to recreate that one it won't look the same as the others, but this is a quick fix... |

You probably need to change the image mode from indexed to RGB.
Also you would then need to USE the color by painting with it or filling an area or what have you. |

I didn't match the font since it was a quicky job, but its seriously so much simpler just to recreate the image since its so basic. I understand its an icon set, but if you are changing this one then won't you need to then change them all?? |

The others are grey which I intend to keep like that. As you also demonstrated, I'll need to match the fonts, and I'm certain that me newly created blue won't be the same as the fonts of the other grey ones.
I guess I will have to magic wand out the font before I paint over it as well? |
