    Need a better scanner interface

OK, I have the CanoScan 8400F. It is 3200 dpi capable. I need a good interface for scanning. Of all the tools I have, about 1200 dpi is my max. I would really love something that would give me more control over the scanner. I want to be able to tell the scanner to scan top 50%, or whatever else I specify. Even 1200dpi is a very slow scan and being able to tell the scanner exactly what to scan would be great.

Well, this has been up here for awhile so I'll get my feet wet {;>...

First, Go here, and get the driver and software D/L's available for
    free...

Secondly, in my use of 3 or 4 different scanners over the years, each had a preview function that allowed me to select the size/position of the final scan area after a preview.

    Hope this helps...
