Well, I know some of you on here are experts on Photos. At a party someone took a pic of my daughter (see original) and well my wife loved it except for the water gun. So i thought I could try the old switcheroo with some flowers. I think I did a pretty good job for a novice.
Well, I had fun doing this and would like to hear some feed back on how I may have and can make it better.
thanks

Nice. But it looks a little fake still. Put some shadow on the fingers and arm.

overall I'd say decent work
problems
the colors of the flowers dont really match the color of the picture.. the lighting was different.
her 3rd finger is overlapping a flower instead of being underneath it.
honestly I couldn't do better, good work
matching color from two different scenes, especially colorful scenes I wouldn't want to do.
there maybe some photoshop/gimp features you can do to lower the contrast on the flowers (or whatever you'd call it) to make it match the girls picture. |

Beautiful girl you have there!
Have you tried making the entire picture black & white except for the flowers? Not sure how it would look, but in general, it makes for a very classy image.

almost completely desaturate the girl and background leaving just a hint of color and halfway desaturate the flowers. Should be cool |

Thanks for the input. I will keep working on it. I could not figure out a way how to recover her finger from behind the water gun trigger guard. So i figured hey the flowers could cover her finger. If there is a way I would greatly appreciate it. Also I will look for tutorials on color matching and setting up shadows. |

To me, the only thing that gives it away that it's a fake is the lighting on the flowers. If you could fix that, I'd say it looks pretty damn good. |

clone stamp - might recover those parts of the little girl's finger that are hidden behind the trigger guard.
otherwise its a nice job. lighting is always going to hard to repiclate on the flowers.
i've used masks before to create black and white images with one specific area keeping it's colour ..... can be time consuming don't know of a quick way to do it but the effect can be really good. |

I think this looks decent, although I didn't spend any time recovering her finger...and it took all of 3 minutes. or
Eh? |
