    no background on custom icons

Hey guys im wondering if you could help me out. Ive been making my own desktop icons in photoshop and converting them to .ico format but I cant seem to figure out how to make a clear background on them its not a big problem if your background is a flat color but otherwise they dont look good at all.

The easiest way to do what you want is to download a Photoshop plugin called ICOFormat. It's FREE and available for Photoshop CS and CS2. You install it and it shows up as a file format in your save dialog box. It simply saves your layered Photoshop file (with transparency) in the Windows .ico format which is what is needed to get the transparency in the icons in the finder.

Re : no background on custom icons

The .ico file can be used for icon. When you change icon, click browse and browse to your .ico file.
