Saving my pictures in .png like Outpatient recommends is fine, however when uploading to Wal-Mart for prints, they accept only .tif & .jpeg. When I get the prints returned, the overall results are poor on glossy paper. Is there a way to improve results prior to upload while using .tif or .jpeg?
Is there a way to increase the DPI in Photoshop or something? |

It depends on the current resolution of the image. You can't increase the size of the image without losing quality. You can increase the dpi in Photoshop without quality loss, but as you increase the dpi the physical size of the image will shrink.
As far as getting the image to Walmart, use TIF. And make sure to use no compression or LZW compression so there will be no loss in pixels. |

i was making some logo files and when my client saw the jpeg he strated asking why was it so blurry, it's funny, the .gif turned out better. for some reason i've always thought .gif is worst than jpeg due to it's size |

A while back I noticed PNG quality was comparable to JPG and most of the time the size was smaller, so I've been using that ever since for all my images (as evident in this recent thread: http://www.techimo.com/forum/t108539.html). |

Good work, sometimes I can test a webpage through the web and sometimes pngs randomly dont even show up. I will got to the png location, say www.r4nd.com/rand.png and it will show a red box with the right size, but with no image! I'm still puzzled what is up with that. |
