html question

is there any sort of maybe html, or even a java applet out there that when u goto a site u click a button to enter it pops up a new window and closes the one that u just clicked the button on.

window.close(self);

that will kill the current window, but I can't remember how to kill it without user intervention (it states whenever close(self); is issued that the webpage is trying to close the window).

A sprung window will close without a question.

The following code will get you the new popup window:

onClick="NewWin=window.open('your_page_here.html', 'NewWin','toolbar=no,statusbar=no,scrollbars=no,wi dth=550,height=400'); " STYLE="cursor: hand"

This has to be placed in a tag for either an image or link.

Eg.

<img src="duhhh.gif" onClick......>
<a href="#" onClick....>

The popup stopper should function in a way that it prevents unwanted popups. Not the ones called from a link.

go to my site with opera (refuse pop ups) and klick on the image it wont open the window! just try it!

Wrong forum but plz people DONT USE POP UPS! My computer wont load ANY Jaascript generated pop up and if its just a normal pop up, then I have to press "stop" then "refresh" ANy help on how to solve this would b appreciated too. It may have been bad uninstall of pop ub blocker(s). Or low resources?? DUnno thnks
