    when designing a logo

if it's a paying job, at what price range would you be willing to work at.

who would enter a contest for $50?

I think there are so many depending factor with a question like that - such as:
    1) is ia friend
    2) how bad do you need the money
    3) are you just starting out
    4) is that part of a package (such as a web site as well)

but to answer your question, sure, as long as I liked the idea behind the logo...

same here... money is nice but to me, a link and a credit is worth MUCH more than $50.00

I usualy design logo's for free just because they are easy to fill your portfolio with. Also logo's arent a reflection of my best work. Getting your name out there through free works seem's to do alot more than charging every guy who comes to you for work 50 dollars.

But if you are going to charge some one for a logo 40-75 dollars depending on time spent and interaction with the client.
