I can't save gifs, or anything othen then bmp

First off this is a win2kpro box and for some reason all the sudon I can only save bmp and nothing else. I had it happen once before but can't remember what I did to fix the problem. I can open ones I already have in photoshop but can't save a new one like something off the web. Any ideas would be great. Thanks

What do you mean that you can't save any? You mean you can't select it from the save dialog box or you can't type in image001.gif and it won't save as a gif?

sorry but the best thing i can do for you is tell you to see if typing in a name like image1.gif saves the image as a gif...

he means that if he wants to save images off hte web it can only save in BMP. It happened to. I never treid to fix it..but luckily i was about to reinstall windows as well and that fixed it....

i hate that too
