When I do the third step I get an image that is basicly a random 1pxl wide doted line. What does he mean by he chose a 25pxl brush?
Im confused!!! Keep in mind I have only been using photoshop for about 15 minutes.

Goto window --> brushes and you get a menu that lists different brushes. The number is the diameter of the brush measured in pixels.
Just make sure in this case for the tutorial that u click on the pen tool first, or else the the brushes will be greyed out |

What do you mean? I just want to learn some basics. I figured a line with a gradiant would be a good place to start. What do you have in mind?

He's telling you to have your brush tip set at 25 pixels. Do this,
goto your Brush Tool:
then to your selection of preset tips:
choose one that 25 pixels in size. If you don't have one, pick the closest size:
then use the master slider to change it to 25 pixels.
Then go back to the pen tool your were using, and continue following the tutorial. |

Thank you Out.
Now Im as far as the selecting it...
Problem is when I go to do the lighting effect its not actively selectable. Under render I have the 3d filter and the two cloud filters but not the lighting effect filters.

OK!.... well,
in order to correctly use lighting effects, make sure you are in RBG mode. by going
Image > Mode > RGB
in greyscale, lighting effects wont work. also, if you want some good tutorials, a good place to go is http://www.phong.com
that helped me anyway... kk cheers |
