LCD isnt as sensitive to magnetisem as crt is. No gun involved. Just crystals that switch and a bulb behind it. Worst a mag could do is interfere with the controler card's electronics.

i just tried unplugging everything but my power to PC & monitor, and also changed extension leads, but nothing changed. |

Keep altering your Hz setting around and see if that stops it.
Try 72 or 75
Edit: did the monitor come with it's own cable & are you using it? And can you swap ends to experiment? And is the outlet grounded?

Bad VGA or DVI cable is possible. Which is it by the way? Or its internal (LCD controler etc). Or your video card. Try to eliminate some of the possiblities.
"both monitors and PC's are plugged into the same power adapter, which is actually a 6way."
Eh? That the original adaptor? Cause I know those variable volt adaptors like at Wal-mart and Rat shack make ALOT of noise in the power. They have like next to no filtering and the current ripple reaks havoc on certain sensitive electronics. Been there done that too many times. Hook one up to powered spks. and you can literally here the hum! If both mons were hooked to same pc dont rule out video card either. Were both useing same power adaptor? Process of elimination is the only way you'll find out Im affraid. |
