There's only one kind of DVI to VGA adapter. Most places sell 'em for $5.

MWave.com has 'em. It says ATi, but it'll work w/ any model/brand.

yes, I am almost positive that the 4200 will all use DVI-I the DVI-A and DVI-D are for older cards and macs i think

If the DVI plug on the card isn't DVI-I but DVI-D then there's no analog signal you could present on a VGA plug anyway. DVI-A is something that doesn't exist on the graphics card end.

Graphics cards either implement DVI-D (D)itigal only, or DVI-I, where you get a digital and an analog copy of the same image (I)ntegrated into one single plug. From there you either use a DVI-D cable toward a digital device, a DVI-A cable toward an analog device, or a DVI-A to VGA adapter dongle and a VGA cable toward a legacy analog device.

Having said that, all DVI-VGA adapters do the same thing. Since this is high frequency analog signalling, there might be good and bad ones. Don't go too cheap.
