OK...I'm at the breaking point!

I've tried three different sets of drivers: the newest ones from Asus's site, the newest catalyst drivers from ATI's site, and the newest Omega drivers. All yield the same problem.

After the first reboot after I install the drivers, the screen goes blank, the monitor LED goes from green to amber, and the system locks up. When I do a hard reset, it just keeps doing it until I boot into safe mode and uninstall the drivers. If I do somehow do get it working without uninstalling the drivers, there is all kinds of graphics corruption on the screen (not too bad, but noticible in Windows, and terrible in full screen applications).

I'm assuming that the card is defective but it could be something else. I have a pretty old monitor that was purchased in '97. It's top resolution is 1280x1024@60hz, which is what I usually run it at. I've never had a problem with it before, though.

Also, there could be a conflict with my motherboard which is a Gigabyte 7N400-L with the latest nForce 2 drivers. Does anyone know anything about that?

I've done endless Google searches about this but found nothing. Any help would be extremely welcomed and appreciated!

Thanks,
