Hey! I am new here.
I am no longer a NVIDIA fan! I am totally lost my confidence on Geforce cards.
Here is my story for those who still have hopes with nvidia.
It was several months ago, after a LAN party with my dudes, who showed me their Radeon cards, I decided to replace my Ti4200 with a Radeon 9600 Pro.
I bought this card from Newegg, made by PowerColor, for about $140.
I felt that nVidia played tricks on their drivers to speed up 3D benchmarks, while causing the quality of 3D graphic to be poor.
Radeon, on the other side, produced much better graphical details and realism. This conclusion was made after I had that LAN party.
After I bought that PowerColor (cheaper than ATI, and no quality nor performance difference), I re-experienced the games I have played long with Geforce.
When nvidia scarifies image quality for speed, users would hardly noticed unless they have a chance to look at images by Radeon cards.
Price wise, I rule for the Radeon card by PowerColor. Rather than ATI, I noticed (at least on my card), the over-clock ability was great! Using a software tweak, like powerstrip, to archive 10% performance increase was a CAKE.
After all the Geforce 2, 4, and MX series, I am with PowerColor now!
