No surprise that ATI took back the throne Quote: |
It remains to be seen at what price point these cards will be sold, as the "normal" GF 6800 Ultra's price tag of $499 already makes it just as expensive as the X800 XT Platinum Edition. The direct competitor to the X800 Pro in the $399 market segment will be the new GeForce 6800 GT.
| Im going to have to wait a year.I cant afford them at these prices |

yeah...from what i have read they are pretty much the same untill you turn up AA then ati will toast it and if the card will handle it why not turn it up...you want what you paid for don't you
what i got comes from here http://www.hexus.net/content/reviews...JsX3BhZ2U9MQ==
i havn't gottem to read much else cause at school today i was rather busy formatting 3 98 machines while trying to check it out so all i really saw was graphs and stuff but i gotta check some more out
PS you can buy the card at ATi's website...dont have enough to tell you if it works though lol |

Um I guess you could call that a win.... somehow...
You will notice that the nvidia hardware falls behind in a couple of tests on UT2k4 but cleans house in CoD. For the rest of the games it is really close. (speaking of toms)
Also they don't even bench the 6800 Ultra Extreme in either of these tests.
It is best to just go with: http://techreport.com/reviews/2004q2...0/index.x?pg=1
They show all rez's and all the cards. |

Eh, if I'm ever in the market I think I'll go for the cheaper one; whichever that may be. The reason is they are both top of the line and fine for any game [like the ATi 9800 and the nVidia 5900's are for today]. It just comes down to cost for me, because I know they will both be awesome with anything you throw at it.

Well, I'll stand by my previous posts. If ATi could deliver close performance and keep it to one slot, they have my vote. They did it, and did it marveously. Try putting a 6800 in a SFF! |
