Besides that he didn't ask advice on a video card decision even tho people felt the need to push the idea onto him, i'd say stick with what's more cost effective and of value, not the hype.
Especially not this Quote: |
I don't mean the shabby tricks they pulled for 3DMark
| Ati did it too, they admitted to it, both their drivers have changed since then and aren't cheating with 3dmark anymore, so it doesn't matter at this point anyhow.
Either are marginal to each other and neither are on store shelves, even tho ati often puts their product out to be purchased before actual shipping.
As for the question at hand, I purchased a thermaltake power supply myself because of the highly rated quality and how stable the rails are. I am convinced, my old power supply did just fine and ran pretty stable too, but since I was nearly at capacity for molex connectors and near 420w, I purchased a new power supply for when I buy a new video card, so I went with a much larger one, which had a few more molex connectors, tho not too many more. They are even longer than my previous ones, it really works great, and quiet too.
I would recommend thermaltake or antec.
