| Need a good PSU for a 6800 Ultra
Ok, I am looking for a PSU with at least 4 aux connectors. The 6800 Ultra takes 2 molex connectors and recommends that the be unused by anything else but the video card. If I have 3 that only leaves me on connection to power 6 drives, 6 fans, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Anyone know if anyone makes one of these yet?
One more thing, who are the best producers of the 6800 (Asus, Chaintek, etc) |

I wouldn't buy an 6800 just yet. Maybe look into the X800Pro from ATI, it should hit the shelves soon.
I've seen the benchmarks against eachother, and a lotta times the X800 was faster then the 6800.
But then again, nVidia has shown before they can do miracles with driver updates, and I don't mean the shabby tricks they pulled for 3DMark, but real increase.
I'd wait a month or 2 till after their release, then they'll already be a bit cheaper.

While the X800XT does scores better more often, when it does it only scores an average of 6.5 FPS better. The GeForce 6800 scores better less often but when it does it scores an average of 13.4 FPS better. The types of games you play also makes a big difference in which would be a better choice for you. Based on the number of benchmarks won the X800XT could be considered marginally better. But also consider this, if you were to add all of the FPS of all of the benchmarks you would find that the GeForce 6800 Ultra would have 109.5 FPS more than the X800XT. It is just a matter of perspective. |

Anyways I would recommend Antec TruePowers. Either the 430 480 or 550 watt.
Not enough plugs? Buy splitters.

I agree with the people who said wait.
but... if you're the type for the newest Enermax is a good brand and here is a nice little 600W beast. |

I reccomend the Thermaltake one ArcticFox is getting. I have the 480w one and the rails are rock stable which is important especially with the amount of juice the 6800 is gonna take. I have plenty of connections as well with it. if its not enought just get a spliter like Twisted suggested. and it looks pretty damn cool as well. and cheaper than the enermax's or antecs. |

I'm getting a 6800ultra next week, and am going to set it on a antec 400watt, no fears I have a whole chain open. |
