I'm wonder what is better in a LCD gaming monitor: 25ms or 16ms?

16 is better....

but 25 is pretty good also

if the response time is too slow it makes a "ghost" image sometimes

For optimal gaming, you want nothing less than 16ms. As JP said, slower speeds create a lot of "ghosting".

wait.. you guys mean HIGHER ms's right the lower the better. 25 is the best right now, stable and no ghosting (at least not on my KDS 17SX 17'')

lower response time means a faster monitor picture....so 16 is better than 25

atomic rooster said it a lil backwards, lol..he meant you want nothing "higher" than 16m

This might sound like an ignorant question, but I just have to know.
What does "ms" stand for? And the response time meaning how fast the monitor responds to your actions?

ms = milliseconds

http://www.cheap-lcd-monitor.com/lcd-monitor-terms.htm

quote :

"Response Time - Response time refers to the amount of time it takes for an liquid crystal cell (pixel) to switch from active to non-active, and is measured in milliseconds (ms). This is very important for applications that require fast moving (changing) images like gaming and video playback. The best LCD monitors currently offer response times of 16 ms. Generally 20 ms response times and below are considered optimal for gaming. An average LCD monitor has a response time of 25-40 ms, which will result in significant image trailing while playing games or watching videos."
