What was your previous vid card?
Did you uninstall it first?
Is there any more information you can give us about the system?
Are there any beeps from the mobo?

Since you previously had onboard graphics, you need to uninstall it from within windows first before you plug in your AGP card. After that, restart then go into your BIOS, usually by hitting the DEL key (also sometimes F1 or F2) and set your AGP slot as the primary adapter. Then save and exit the BIOS and then it will restart. Turn it off as it starts to load. Unplug the plug from the outlet and go ahead and install your new card. Make sure its seated properly and then plug in the monitor adapter into the AGP card. Plug it in then switch it on. Good luck.

What do you mean... a loud sound? Do you have the video card mounted fully in the slot? Also, you need to fully uninstall the previous vid card and set the new one up in the BIOS by turing the onboard graphics off.

Auto setting should be just fine, it shoule recognize that there is a vid card in the AGP slot and shut down the onboard graphics. Now, did you uninstall your previous card?

with integrated, the bios should shut it off if an AGP card is found....
Is the card new? USED ?
First uninstall old drivers(if it lets you) my dell optiplex GX1 wont let me uninstall the ATI integrated graphics drivers, but as soon as i put in my nVidea Geforce4 MX420 64mg, it loaded up with it and i installed the latest nvidea graphics drivers from nvidea's site.
Odd ....usually you should uninstall the vid drivers first(if you can)
then turn off pc
put in new card in agp slot (make sure it's firmly in there)
then turn on pc
windows should pick it up...and install drivers
then you can install the latest nvidea drivers after that..
with the card in....turn off pc, then plug your monitor into the onboard video, see if the monitor comes on, then uninstall the drivers that way if you can , then go to steps above....
