| x800SE v. 9800???
I've been told that the x800SE can compare directly to the 9800. Maybe a little bit slower, but would do anything the 9800 could. If someone could compare these cards and tell me what they think, that would be great. Thanks for the help. (Using this card with Battlefield Vietnam soon, just trying to find out how well it will perform) |

supposedly the x800 SE will have a 425mhz VPU, 128mb of 256bit RAM, and 8 pixel pipelines. For the record, any ATI card with the "SE" means IT SUCKS! But this one looks different. I cant find any benches either, but it does seem to compare pretty closely to the 9800.
EDIT: it appears this card could be a great modder. its possibly just a cut down x800pro/XT, which means you should be able to re-enable the other 4/8 pipelines!

Never seen any benchmarks of the x800SE either, but SE's reputation says it all.
I wouldn't buy a SE video card from ATI. Most actually suck and are totally underclocked.

I do know why you wont find any bench marks on the x800se. From what Dell has said, the computers that included the x800se are still being shipped because they were all on backorder. So no one has received theres yet. (from what they said anyways) also, they wont release details until 3 days after the 1st shipment has been received. Strange huh? Anyways, they did tell me it would be a close match between the 9800 and the x800se. I mean, they are putting the x800se on their top of the line computer. The only other card you can buy other then the x800se is the x800XT. But I was not sure and wanted to see what others thought on here. I mean, can it be the first "good" SE card that ATI has built specifically for Dell?? I'm not sure, but some more replies would be great. Thanks |

But if the card is as good as the 9800pro (like they promised) then whhy do you all suspect there will be a problem with it? I mean, I'm curious why you think there would be a problem with it if no one has it yet? (Not yelling, just don't understand) |
