    HELP! Identify my Video Card!

I have an Avid Macintosh computer probably 5-6 years old. It has a very large dual video card. The only writing I see anywhere is PCI/Janus Gasket on the connector. It has a 15 pin and a 26 pin input. On one card the words Truevision are printed. Any other ways to help me identify this card would be great! Thanks

From a little Google, it looks like Janus is the manufacturer of the card. It also looks like this is a rather pricey machine, or at one time it was. Used for big-time editing.

Anyway, you might have to remove the card and look at the chips on it to really identify it. Not being an "avid" Mac user, I don't know if they have utilities to help you identify their hardware or not.

I'm guessing Mac hardware is built like PC hardware. I've never messed w/ a Mac, so I don't really know.

There should be some IC chips on it. Look at the numbers and use Google. That's what most everybody else here does. There might be one that's larger than all the rest. That's the one you want to concentrate on as that's probably the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit).

If you've got a digi-cam, pics might help as well.

There's no picture of the component side of the board that has the connectors. That would have been the interesting bit

omg, that is the biggest freakin video card/s i have ever seen.

since the Truevision logo was printed on the circuit board, it looked pretty obvious that truevision makes it

a simple google search can get most of the info u need these days...thank God for seach engines

Duh, the interesting board is sandwiched. I would have liked to see the primary layer of the-board-with-the-connectors.

I saw them, I figured the mistake in the original link. One of the boards is a sandwich, so we didn't get to see the components on it yet, only the backsides of the two layers. That's what I meant.
