9800 Pro is definatley the best out of those but the 6800 can be had for under 300
256 is better but it dosent really matter in games too much except mabey doom3 but even then it would be much better to have a 128 meg 6800 than a 256m 9800 Pro |

i live in israel
and my computer is like this :
motherboard : ASUS P4T533
Intel Pentium4 2.4GHZ (533)
Samsung 2x256MB RDRAM (1066 mhz - 2*533)
80 GB H.D. Western Digital 8MB buffer - 7200 RPM
but my video card is only : Geforce4 MX440 64MB
i want a monster vid card that would unleash the power of the computer in games especially - DOOM III
(i was thinking that if i got a card that will manage DOOM III it will probably manage any game in the near future (1 year) and more ....)
in israel the best choise for that money is :
ASUS Extreme AX600XT/TD PCIe ATi Radeon X600XT 128-bit 128MB
can u advise something better for the same money ? |

which amount of memmory is better ? 128MB or 256 ? | hands down the 6800 is the best you can get for under (up to) $300 . But since you live in Israel I would try and find a 256bit 9800PRO with 256MB RAM that is... unless the prices are the same as here, but I highly doubt that!
Dude! Are you kidding me!? First of all, the x600xt is a PCI-E 16x and overclocked version of the 9600xt so it sucks, second you DO NOT have a PCI-E 16x slot on your motherboard which means you can only buy AGP slot cards like the rest of us |

i have AGP 3.0 (x8) and when u put PCIe card in it it works like a charm
just slower than PCIe . its using all the power the AGPx8 can give
u said 9800pro 256Mb and 256bit ???
did they really have 256bit cards in the 9800 series ????
will it run DOOM III smoothly ??? |

if you are looking for top performance in Doom 3 and other future games ( based on Doom 3 engine ) , you should consider Geforce 6800GT/U graphics card ( Nvidia ) . First , check your psu ( power supply unit ) if it has got more than sufficent power to run 6800 card . Well , you have mentioned a graphics card which is meant only for PCI express . it will not work in AGP port ( I think there will be a convertor for that purpose ) as your motherboard has only AGP . |

They do make 256 bit cards in the 9800 series such as the 9800SE and the 9800PRO, and the 9800XT is probably 256bit as well
Have you checked how much a 6800 NU/NGT costs?
Doom 3 will run smoothly, I even heard that this person (LINK) http://www.techimo.com/forum/t118225.html uses his 9800PRO with highest (ULTRA) settings in doom 3 PLUS 2x AA! |
