    FX 5900XT Voltage adjustment?

My computer always freezes when I play games... (SEE http://www.techimo.com/forum/t121620.html for more about that if you wish). I read around and saw that maybe I could adjust my AGP voltage in my BIOS because maybeit wasn't getting enough juice. Currently, the AGP voltage is at 1.5V, would it be ok if I raised it to say... 1.6V? Or would that cause me problems, or do any permanent damage?

I also made my RAM do auto timings, and surprisingly they improved.. It is now 3-3-2.5 from 3-3-3.

I had this same problem with my old vidoe card. It was a 9600 pro and in most games it would just freeze. I looked around on the internet and found a thing about changing the voltage. I changed it and it fixed some of the problems but there were still some. I think that if you want to try, you could but don't go higher than 1.7 for the voltage.

If I were you I would wait for someone with more experience to post, but if you want to try you probably could.

I had already changed the voltage up to 1.6 when I posted it lol, I just wanted to see if anybody gave me any big warning flags not to do it. I did it and I played games all day, for the first time, NO FREEZES!!! I was amazed, but need to do more testing with it to see if that was the problem or not.

    Thanks for replying

You probably won't have any issues, I'd loop a 3DMark03 demo overnight to see if it crashes. If not, you are in great shape. I used to run my CPU voltage up a couple notches by default anyways, I doubt you are damaging the card.
