Is this card worth the money?
Hey guys, I think I have finally found a graphic card!
It is a: ASUS v8520/TD GeForce FX5200 128MB 8xAGP DVI
The price is $123.00 but keep in mind this is Canadian money so the price should be a little higher than american. Is this an OK price? And will it be good enough to play SIMS2?
Thanks!

Well you can get them in the states for 50-70 dollars you could fo with an mx 440 or 4000 and that would be ample bbut if you want a little more juice for only playing the sims get a 5200 but im sure you can get it for at leat 20-30 dollars cheper than that

ok thanks guys
I also have intergrated graphics, can I just somehow change how much memory goes to my intergrated graphics and save buying a card?
How do I do that?
My specs are
P4 3.0Ghz
512 RAM
160 Hard drive

U could get a 9600 non pro for that price. The 5200 is alright but it's a budget card. If that is all you can afford go for it, but look for a cheaper price. Checkout Newegg they have some good deals there.

Using this Site ( http://www.vibecomputers.com/ ) outta Vancouver, I found this ( http://www.vibecomputers.com/index.c...f=n&vID=193337 ), Im not sure where in Canada you are though. Im not sure if thats a good card or not really. But its gotta be better than a 5200? If it is a decent card I may buy it myself too. Not a bad price.
---On second thought, I just read a review comparing the Ati 9550 to the Geforce 5200, the ATI beat it well. On Vibe you can pick up a ATI 9550 for $113, dunno about shipping. If thats your price range, would likely be better.Last edited by islandguy999; October 4th, 2004 at 04:49 AM.

October 4th, 2004, 02:27 AM #11An Asus V8520/TD? I think you mean V9520/TD. It's an OK price for an Asus GeForce FX 5200 (128-bit).

I have no clue why the prices here are higher? But its pretty annoying. Vibe has average to good prices for BC here. The link is in my post above. Compared to newegg say, even with the currency exchange added, it just doesnt seem right? A 9600pro 128 mb card here is like $220-240, ussually. That just seems high to me.
