Video monitor repair

I have a 21" NEC Multisync FE1250 monitor with a single vertical line through it. It is about 3 years old. Does it pay to repair it, or just junk it?

hmmm... well.. if the repair is going to be around (less than) 50 bucks, I would repair it

Has the line always been there? How big is it?

I'm trying to find info on what kind of tube it has and I'm not finding anything.

Well that's how my NEC MultiSync E1100+ started out which is also a 21". It then got to the point the screen would shut off and the older it got the worst it got til one day it wouldn't come on at all. I looked into getting mine repaired but it was going to cost $120 to fix it so I just got a new monitor only 19" and I do miss that super heavy 21" monitor still. Mine had a bad flyback and vert. output transisor. I found a place locally that sell's the NEC and Dell 21'' monitors off lease for around $200 with 90 day warrenty.

The line goes from the top of the screen to the bottom. It look like there is no horizontal sync. The first symptoms were that it would just shut down and then turn back on.
