if it was me id go with the 6600 it is more powerfull. and i have had some problems with ati before but never with nvidia.

definitely the 6600gt, the x700pro cannot compare with it, the x700xt comes closer, but 6600gt would still win even over the x700xt in most games esp. when AA&AF is used or high res.

the x700 is the mid-range x serires card right?

The x700 will not support all technology the 6600GT does because even the x800 line does not.. so 6600GT, its awesome.
