ATI X700 Pro and Viewsonic

Hey guys

Problem: Keep Losing Digital Signal. Fine when LCD connected with standard vga but intermittent signal problem with dvi-d

Setup.: ATI X700 PRO
WIN XP Pro SP2
Latest ATI drivers
1600X1200 reso (tried both 60 and 70 hz refresh)
VP201b selected for monitor type

Any ideas how to keep the dvi-d working?

Thanks in advance

I am having a problem alot like yours... I have an x700 aswell and my monitor blinks on and off... Like im losing signal.... everyone tells me to try a different refresh rate... well let me tell you its not the refresh rate nor is it the monitor. If the drivers are uninstalled its rock solid but if i install any driver for the card.... I have tryed every driver ati has on its site... Oldest to newest... and gotten the same problem. Both the DVI and the VGA does it.... What the hell it doing this... Do we have bum cards or do X700s just suck?

i would check with the ATI guys and see if there are any third party drivers that may solve this problem... of course you can RMA your card and try a new one, just to rule that out...

Brand

My monitor is a Viewsonic VP201b. I really dont think its the monitor at all. And since ATI have a troubleshooting doc on this exact thing, Im pretty sure they know its their card. Anyone that has this prob seems to be on a ATI Card. The problem is, I cannot do everything they recommend in guide. For example, they recommend change ur Bios so that Plug N Play OS option is on. Everytime i do that I get no signal msg after post so I cant even boot to windows. I am starting to think its time to get my money back on this card and try something new.

Thumbs down

I Just built my rig. Its an Asus P5GD2 Deluxe motherboard running an Intel P4 Prescott 530 3.0GHz processor. MOBO is socket 775 and has the 915P chipset. I have 2GBs of Corsair VS533 PC4200 DDR2 Ram running in Dual Channel Mode. Im running on board RAID 0 with 2 Wester Digital 80GB Hard drives. New install of Windows XP SP2. Im having this problem with my ATI x700 Pro GDDR3 PCI-Express x16 card. The monitor just blinks on and off intermittantly, both VGA and DVI. LCD monitor and CRT. Tryed all drivers avaible. Does NOT blink while in Safe Mode or if drivers are uninstalled (Useless with out them!). Cant find any help!
