ATI - the source of my problems
<rant>So I'm almost through reinstalling everything on my newly reformatted sytem. I restart and the PC won't boot, I restart again, the PC freezes on windows startup. I'm mad, I know what's wrong. It's my ATI Xpert128 having a conflict with my aASUS a7a266 and WIn 98se. But they were supposed to fix that already. Well they did, in their BETA driver. But when the newer driver came out the same problem is back. Aarg, if I just had money to buy a different card. </rant>

Have you tried downloading the new Ali chipset drivers? The new AGP miniport driver v1.80 and now 1.82 have supposedly stabilized the ATI AGP problems, along with some other problems, a newer BIOS did something with ATI too, can't rememeber which revision. Anyway, ASUS site is full of dead links, so if you want to try the newer AGP drivers head over to Ali's site, I posted it here:

I just found them last night after desparation from ASUS horrid site
.
Also make sure your BIOS is updated to 1.09
here is the 1.09 fix
Best of LuckAdd ATI AGP display card patch to fix that the system can not execute AGP cycle with ATI AGP display cards.

When I used to have that card in my main system (thank God I don't anymore!), I had tons of problems with bad drivers. The folks at www.rageunderground.com were a big help in getting my problems sorted out.
As soon as you get the $$$, ditch that cursed card. They've given me nothing but grief.

I just downloaded the drivers that krohnjw posted in hopes that I could get my ATI WinTV VE work. It won't even boot in safe mode. It stops at AliAgp.sys. I'll have to mess with it to see if there is anything I can do but it looks like a reformat at this point.
I'm unique, just like everyone else

Did the new AGP drivers cause that problem? I have them installed and running with no problems
. Hm, sorry to hear that.
