| sapphireati radeon 9250 or Asus V9520 MAGIC?
Hey there
I'm about to upgrade to a cheapie video card from my lumbering GeForce 4 440mx 64Mb (agpx4). I've got around $70-$80Aud & I've narrowed it down to either the Sapphire Radeo 9250 or the Asus V9520 Magic.
The system is:
Asus A8VX8 mainboard
512 Mb ram
Athlon 2200+ XP cpu
Any ideas on which is the better of the 2? (and yeah if I had the cash I'd go for something a little more upmarket!
any help more than welcome |

there really are no reviews on the 9250s because they're unpopular cards, they also suck, can you get a 9200? because if you can it would be better. I would go with Asus, just because it's a well trusted brand IMO and they make very high quality products

Actually I would go with the 9550 series for a budget card. Most 9550's are able to overclock close or on target with 9600 Pro speeds. My Gigabyte R9550 (250/200) stock runs at (390/270).
Check out NewEgg.com for them. I think they are under $70.00. Just don't get the SE versions, they are 64-bit instead of 128-bit.

he is talkin australin dollars for that price range i would suggest the 9250. if you could find another 30 bucks you could get a 9550 which is the same speed as a 9600.
the 9520 is a 5200 *shudder*

Thanks guys, and thanx Proffit! I'm thinking of saving the pennies and springing for a 128bit, 128mb 9550.
OR.......how would a 64bit 128mb 9600 fare against the 128bit 9550? |

128bit at near same mhz will be much stronger then 64bit anyday. Its like having cars doing 60mph on two lanes or four. Which you think can move more traffic at any given time? And whilste doing the same posted 60mph speed limit. |
