Hey guys-
I have recently cleaned off my desk and found that I have lots of extra room.
I have an extra monitor and was wondering if it is possible for me to use both of them on my 1 computer??What would I need to connect them both??Will I be able to run different programs on each of the monitors or will only 1 program appear on both of them? I know im asking for alot of help lol but I am interested in trying this out
thanks for all your help! |

setting up dual monitors is fairly easy...
if you are using a single output agp video card, adding a second video card (and installing the driver) is all you need. if your agp card supports dual output then all you need to do is connect the 2nd display and enable it under Display properties.
if you're currently using onboard video and have an agp slot, simply buy a dualhead card. if it's an an older motherboard, you may have to manually set the primary video device in your BIOS to point to the video card esp if you don't have agp video on the machine. |

not all 9600ses will work...if yours has a white rectangular dvi port, then you will simply need to buy a dvi-vga adapter, if its one of the half hieght ones with vga only, you will either need to buy a dual head card or a second pci card

There are half-height 9600SE cards that do have a 2nd output (on a short ribbon cable). I had one of those, worked fine with dual monitors. Still does in fact, elsewhere. |

Where can I find these cables I need and how do I tell if this card will accept it? |

| www.hypermicro.com has all sorts of cables. Refer to the user guide to see the specifics of the type of cable it can support, or you could tell us what vidio card you have and we might tell you (if we know)
