video card opinions

i am going to be getting a sli board and xp 64 processor soon. money is going to be tight, so is there a big difference between 6600gt and 6800gt. i will only be able to buy one at a time. can the 6600gt be sli'd?

There is a performance difference between the 6800gt anf the 6600gt but you won't notice it any time soon. Check the reviews at the links in your other thread to see the difference. 6600gt can be used in an SLI config. I would probably go with the 6600gt just because the difference in price.

You can get 2 6600gt for the same price as one 6800GT.

I dont know I would get the 6800gt, my friend just recently bought a computer and he says he can run doom3 maxed out highest res, aa full, ultra settings and runs without a problem, he also added that the video card doesnt get hot just mildly warm anyway I would go witht he 6800gt IMO

for a budget.....6600GT....your getting SLI anyways, might as well get the budget thing that would kick ace now, and get another one later when you get more money and you would never notice a difference....plus the cost of the 6600GT's will have gone down by the time you need another one.
