I need drivers for ATI RAGE PRO

old *** card!!! for my *deleted* computer... so well the drivers i have now for it SUCK! so any drivers would be great unoffical or official I don't care but I need the card for games, not at all for video well the card... is exactly..>>> RAGE PRO TURBO 2X (AGP) and the chip type is... MAch64 RAgePro well I have looked on there official cite and those drivers I have and I need new ones well any help would rule thanks!

These drivers are available on ATI's site. I know cause I just downloaded them a few weeks ago .

pages leading to this page said Turbo was funtionaly the same and used the same drivers as the Rage Pro.

ive tried those drivers and they make it so that most my games dont work, lol exspcially half life lol it wont work at all, well i need dif drivers or a solution please help, ps sorry for the language didnt know also thanks for the links even though i didnt need 'em you tried uhh any help is great!

Have you tried using OpenGL instead of D3D? OpenGL seemed faster than D3D with this card in HL.

After you install the video drivers, install DirectX 8.1 . . .


Also, try going to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com . . . sometimes microsoft has a more compatible Rage driver on the Windows Update site.

EDIT: You may also want to get the motherboard/chipset drivers for your particular motherboard.

well finally half life works yay... the mods work too yay.... the drivers helped thanks.... but uhhhh well when i go into a game it just skips like totaly skip skip skip its like lag but in a pattern all the time I cant play it like that lol, I dont know how to fix it!!!! is it the drivers? or what well i am pissed cause it sucks now lol and i play at 400x300 resolution and it still skips!!!!!! omg its stupid... is there a way to fix this laggyness? or does anyone have the original drivers for an ATI RAGE PRO (windows 98) argh.... the crazieness well any help on how to fix the skipping would be greAT! thanks ~zebra

396 mb ram pc 133 ^
(the ATI rage PRO) card
windows '98 (FE)
I have dsl so its prob not the connection my ping was like 130
... uhhh did i leave anything out?
my mobo is.. intel 440BX/ZX/DX what ever the hell that means
and its 1-2x AGP
Direct X 8.1
and my system is not OC'ed
if i left anything els out ask me

well ok first i had the orginal drivers for the longest time and most of my stuff worked fine, well then i got these new drivers and some more ram... it started to do that laggy thing again! ahhhhhh well so i uninstalled them YAY! it worked agian, then i tried some more drivers, they worked... but no when i tried to run halflife it wouldnt work it just came up with a bunch of gibberish... so i uninstalled the drivers, then well i thought it would work.. it didnt it said i need a the newest version of Direct X and i have 8.1 so i reinstalled all that it still said the same thing, then asked for help on the post and i got new drivers, they work but it skips, thats were i stand now, if anyone has the original drivers, which come on the windows 98 cd and could give me them that would be cool, i dont have the windows cd cause my dad has a license from microsoft from his work to put it on computers. for his work and he uses this, well anyways i cant get the cd, and almost none of my friends have it ...=( any help would be awesome ... thats my story ^_^ thanks ~zebra
