Can't get new LCD to run in DVI

Just took delivery of a Dell UltraSharp 1905FP LCD. It works fine in VGA mode (native 1280x1024) but I can't get anything out of it plugged into DVI. I updated video drivers, got the monitor drivers installed (monitor is recognized). There's a toggle switch to change between analog and digital, but nothing comes up on digital. Here are my system details:
Dell Dimension 4100, XP Home, Geforce Ti4200, 512 MB

Any suggestions?

Frankly, I'm not sure how hung up to get on the DVI thing. VGA works and the thing is absolutely beautiful. No dead pixels, nice and bright, and BIG!!

I use XP home and a Ti4200 and have no problem. My only guess at this point would be the cable.

Did you go into Display properties>Settings>Advanced and enable the DVI output on the video card? You also need to set it as the primary display.

Well i'm not sure what you have tried so far, but what sort of dvi cable do you have?
DVI-A, DVI-D, or DVI-I?
I would assume your monitor takes a DVD-D cable, is this one that came with the monitor?
Possibly you could try booting your computer with it only in the DVI?
I would assume as long as you dont have a forced refresh rate and the latest nvidia forceware drives you should be good. I never had an issue hooking up an lcd monitor and having to turn on a DVI feature. Just have to enable the DVI port.
