i leave my pc on with a 6600GT 24/7 no problems so far
If you have the proper cooling you shouldnt have any problems with gaming
not sure how downloading stuff will effect your video |

No so long as nothing is running too hot the pc will be fine running 24/7. I have had 3 pc's running folding@home with cpu loads at 90%-100% 24/7 since Nov. of last year & have only re-booted two of them 3 or 4 times in that length of time. |

HI john,no it wont hurt the comp nor the card. In fact some still suggest leaving it on until you start reciveing Operating System Errors or it slows down significantly. The slow downs happen usually due to memory leaks. The only real reason to turn off a computer now is to save money on your electric bill. IF you would consider running Find a drug program your unused computer cycles will go to finding cures for various diseases.

Depends on the cooling really, if u play 15 hours straight on any card on a game like Far Cry for example it will overheat and artifact and/or melt.
Downloading and just keeping the computer on doesent really affect the GPU, i have kept my computer on for 4 days straight and nothing went bad. But as i said 15 hours of heavy gaming could blow ur GPU. What game ud want to play for 15 hours i dont know but he, thats you.

they are talking about both of those plus the cooling on your video card. you do not want any part to overheat, but if one starts to, you will know (freezing and lock ups, or artifacts on the screen from the video. my computer runs 24 hours a day at 100% cpu without any problems. your video card should be fine |

The cooling of the system in general, every compent in the computer create heat. All the heat is usually vented from the case, if not it will basically sit the case and can possibly overheat the whole the thing. Mother fan and PSu and GPU fan should be fine on ur system. Like i said though 15hours on Doom3 on high could create some problems. |
