    Recommended LCD monitor for gaming

    Hi,

I'm thinking of building a new PC, and would like some advice on an LCD monitor.. it's to be used for gaming, so I guess would require at least 12ms response time. The graphic card to go with it would be the 6600GT.

Also, since i'll be building from scratch, would AGP or PCI-E be better?

    Thanks..~

lcd monitor is good but it would be better if u bring ur pc desktop on hdtv 52".flat panels for pc monitors are very good for gaming.u can get a medium size flat pannel monitors for good price in newegg.pcie is new and its very powerfull but agp is very much trusted.

i saw a 15" flat panel yesterday and about 188 cad and looks way better then my 17" lcd monitor.

I have a Samsung 710N2 and it's excellent for gaming. I haven't seen any ghosting.

PCI-E would be better as it's more "future-proof," if you will.

basically the same thing, its just a different size socket, shouldnt be hard at all to install, no harder than AGP. PCI-e alsos cost less most of the time and are the future products as agp slowly dies down

ahh, should've asked for help on the whole rig here..

My budget's around $1000 (I'm located in Australia, so prices would be slightly higher than in the US), and I'll need an 17" LCD for gaming.. and of course the 6600GT, and RAM, HDD, case, PSU. With the remainder of the budget, would I only be able to settle for socket A mobo + CPU ?? or would it be possible to get A64 ??

    Any recommendations fellas?

I have the same Samsung Monitor. I also have a 6600GT. I love playing with it! I do recommend the monitor and card. Though if you are gonna go with PCI-e, keep in mind, the mobo must have a slot for that.

    Wow!
Thanks a lot fellas! I never knew i could get an A64 with that.. thought it was beyond my budget :P

wrt to mobo, could you recommend me a Giga-Byte mobo that suits this system? cos here in Australia it's mainly GB or ASUS.. Sux i know cos DFI and ABit are the best around for OC-ing..~

and back to gaming LCDs... how would I choose one for gaming? Can I just pick any brand and rely on price, response time, and also warranty ?
