it's because nothing is manufactured here, there are no brasilian hardware companies and we're quite far from the center (US, EUROPE and JAPAN)

mostly eletronic/digital stuff and imported items are very expensive here (for our patterns, of course)... all other things are quite fair, the problem is that our money income compared to US and Europe is very low... for example, I'm a dentist and I don't make $2000 for month, I don't earn $50000 an year... I believe that US values are at least double or tripled than those!
