    What can a 6600GT handle

Assuming your CPU & Ram etc can cope is their a game available today that a 6600gt cannot cope with on

    1: medium graphical settings
    and
    2:maxed settings

Just curious. I see lots of very expensive cards out there but so far my 6600gt has been able to handle everything ive thrown at it, at maxed settings.
But a note is i havnt tried at least a few of the really high demanding 3D games such as doom3 & hl2.

No real point to this, im not looking for an upgrade just curious really.

hey! my posts are getting quite high now! weeeeeeeeee

It would probably have a tough time playing Far Cry maxed out.

You can probably max out most games but note that you can only max them out at one of the lower resolutions, 1024x768, anything higher than that and the card will start to choke in demanding fps games.

yeh Far Cry is a very hard game to run just cause its so beautiful and its so much going on its also very CPU hard to. Other and game on a reasonable res well run maxed out on the 6600GT.

Oh nice link i like seeing all the cards & results like that.
Yea i can see in 1024x768 without aa/af it can handle ANYTHING easily. Thats what i play games at so im very happy with it

Im sure some people would like to play games on 1600x1200 with full aa/af then the 6600gt wouldnt be able to cope with alot of games.

All in all a very good card that fully meets my needs at least until the next generation of super high graphics comes out.... HL 3 Anyone???

it could probably handle any game at medium settings, while others (older) at highest

i have a 6600GT and i play far cry with ultra high settings & 1024x768 with 16xAF and no AA and it is very playable I barely ever notice choppiness, but mine is OCed and I have non Nvidia drivers

I noticed AF dosent kill FPS with the 6600gt anywhere near as much as AA Does & I personally dont care for AA becasue all it does is iliminate the stair case effect which I barely ever notice. AA on the other hand, I notice, hence my 16xAF 0xAA settings

When I was playing the Riddick demo it became unplayable with maxed out settings, about 20ish FPS is say at 1024*768. No AA/AF, but my CPU is only a Athlon 2600+

wow, I played the Riddick demo completely maxed out I think 1024x768 with PS 2.0 @ 70fps with my 6800 but I have an A64 3000+ and a gig of RAM

I tried PS 3.0 but it was a slideshow

My 6600GT played Doom 3 and HL2 at max settings at 1280x1024 res... it choked yeah, but then again... It was on DDR266 (PC2100) RAM and a Celeron 2.3 GHz...

never tested farcry yet, but.... I suppose it could do it fairly well. check around at benchmarks.

BTW, Need for Speed: Underground 2 topped out at 20 FPS with max settings... though I KNOW it can do better because... it never got any lower than 15 FPS at any given time and not for very long...
