    6600 gt temp

     
    What is considered a good temp for this card to be running at when a playing a game like half-life 2 at max settings?

    well as a rule you want to try to keep it lower than 65 for any video card
    but obviously faster cards run hotter
    but my 6600gt runs at about 58-60 when playing games and mine is oc'ed

    How much overclocked? I run a msi 6600gt,and it has its own overclocker. Im affraid overclocking shortens your cards life,is that really true?

    ya that's true but it's nothing dramatic or anything
    it's not like if my card is probably going to last 4 years it is going to cut it down to 1 year
    oc'ing is worth it if you want that little extra performance...if you feel you don't need it then don't and you'll be fine

    I have never seen my get to 60. and i play cs source and hl2 on the highest settings.

    well i oc'd mine and the source engine is forgiving
    unlike farcry, doom 3, and chronicles of riddick's engine
