| upgrading video card dimension 4600
what up guys
i gots this dell dimension 4600, its got a fx 5200 in it, which pisses the hell out fo me. i need a new card, but this dude told me once that becaus the cassing is super compact, they take only certain cards.
its this a valid staement or should i roshambo him for it?
im not too sure about any of this shizzer yet but its progressing
any special recomendations for cards? nothing like 600 dollars.
more like the 250 price range. |

well first let everyone know that the 4600 has a 8x agp slot so that is out of the way.
We need more info, What will you be doing , hardcore gameing litegamnig ??? ie HL2 Doom3 farcry
or just world of warcraft..... etc |

well any card should fit but small cases can only take cards that are a certain size or smaller like a small form factor pc, your comp looks like a mid tower so ya any card should fit, and i recommend a 6600gt for about $200. remember to get the agp version of it "

bf2 is all that matters to me. i dont expect the top of the line 64-bit system etreme graphics, but i need smoothness or else no accuracy, right! im also a canuck, and i dont know anything about installing video cards! how do you od that thing anywho? or should i not tincker? leave it to the pro's? i wanna be da pro. waht color wire do i cut? |

well when you buy the card just stick it in the AGP slot. Then load windows and install the disk that comes with it. The it will install drivers, restart and your done.
If you want you can get the latest drivers at nvidia or ati .com Its easy and I dont think that you would have any prob with it.
PS what it looks like to me is that you would need a 6600 GT, its a great card and runs games Very well, BF2 should be smooth and no prob.  |
