Display problem

Hello: My name is Cheryl, I have Windows 98 operating System. My problem is my images are not sharp or clear. They are somewhat fuzzy or gritty looking. I was told that it could be that I need to adjust my display settings. Right now it is set on the default of 640 x 480 x16. I tried to change it to more, but I was unable to, even when I tried to do it in the safe mode setting. I have the Compaq Presario, model of 5340. My monitor is Compaq mv520. I thought that maybe it could be my video drivers as well. I believe that my display setting could be off, I tried hitting advance, and I still could not move the arrow over to increase or decrease, it would not allow me to make the change. Some graphics or pictures when I do my internet banking look very gritty and not clear. Some information that is listed in a grid type setting does not look like a clear sharp image. Could you give me any suggestions on what I could do? Please I need all the help I can get.

Thank you so very much.

Hi,

Welcome to Techimo.

Have the images always been fuzzy or is this something that has started recently?

Hi Cheryl. Welcome to TechIMO. It sounds like you need to install the video drivers. Here is a link to the drivers. There are several different models of your pc so pick the exact model you have from the link and download the video drivers from that page. If you need help installing the drivers just post back. Good luck.
