hi again,
I was almost certain the graphics card was faulty so i bought a new club 6600gt and the same problems :/
I have tried new via drivers, nvidia drivers, fastwrite off running everything in the lowest setting and still artifacts everywhere. I would go and get a new mobo but i read on another forum that someone was having same problems with an asus board....
I am at my wits end and he dont like it much |

there are few Asus model mobo that are incompatible with 6600GT. so u might have to look for the right driver. try 67.03 it worked for most ppl i helped.

I get the same issue on a brand new system I just built. It's not heat because mine is staying at 34C and the case temp is at 24C. The times where I have actually received an error log it says that the nvidia driver has been in an infinite loop. I have tried about every driver and tried the DirectX install. Nothing is keeping this card from freezing up. Though I don't get the artifacting like you are getting, it just freezes for about 10 seconds, and then unfreezes or restarts the computer.

First thing: Test your ram, www.memtest86.com
Next if the above doesn't give bad results: Try a different psu. |

Yeah that was actually the first thing I checked because it was before I got the infinite loop error... came out clean. I dunno but it's reallllllly startin to bug me and I can't RMA it because I put the machine together at work and some co-workers tossed the boxes my next step is trying out the beta drivers, see how that goes.
And thanks for the welcoming |

Well it's an Aspire case.... not sure what the psu is. I'm guessing it's an aspire 420W. It's not the PSU though cause I switched in another PSU that had I had from my other computer and it did the same thing. |

39C is the temp on the CPU. It has to be something with the video card. I dont know what... but I have even deleted norton antivirus to see if that was the issue and I still get the same thing. I have all but given up now. I am thinking I am going to just get another vid card, RMA this one to PNY and sell the RMA'd card to a buddy or something. |

Ya, try RMAing it, and before you sell it, try that one, and see if it works, if not, sell it. |
