Go To Bios and disable Integrated Graphics.

do u mean have dual monitors off the integrated graphics and the graphics card? i dont think u can do that.....its either one of the other unless you have a graphics card with two DVI connectors like my XFX 6600GT.

could you please explain your question a bit more?
Are you wanting to use the new card instead of the onboard
Are you wanting to do a dual monitor setup.

no i want to use integrted as a second monitor and my geforce 5500 as my primary. because my 5500 has a vga out and a tv out, no dvi. If it had dvi i would get a converter and use that as my second display.

ok....two diff cards.....unless its SLI.....i dont know if u can do it off two diff cards....cuz what happens with you have dual monitors and u go to game....and for drastic example, you have one 6800GT and one gefore 5200....how do these two cards run at the same level of performance???

Few integrated graphics engines stay enabled when you add an AGP card. As far as I know, only ATI's do - all others automatically disappear. Hence, you need to add a PCI card instead (yes that does work with completely different graphics engines - this isn't SLI, this is independent multihead), or, better yet, put an AGP card in that does have two outputs itself.

it's quite possible to run one pci or agp card and the integrated at the same time
...i've done it! with a geforce fx 5200. I just shut off my integrated card whenever I go to game. it let me have 2 monitors and a tv, or 3 monitors at the same time
lol.

I'll say it again - add a PCI card and keep the integrated one. Add an AGP card and lose the integrated one. No inbetweens.
If you want dual outputs AND good gaming performance, get a dualhead-capable AGP card.

One last time: YOU CAN'T HAVE AN AGP CARD AND THE INTEGRATED ONE AT THE SAME TIME.
The AGP slot needs to be physically empty when the integrated VGA is to be used. Got that?

Whatever. Get an expensive and slow PCI card, and use it alongside your slow integrated VGA. Any simple dualhead AGP card would be faster, cheaper, and zero-headache in setup.

My PS3 is a Netflix streamer at this point. AC3 was a POS, so aside from occasionally updating Dust514 for the hell of it, it gets zero game use. I'm not seeing any compelling reason to upgrade...
